　　At the 2010 Bauma China Liebherr is exhibiting the LTR 11200 telescopic-boom crawler crane, which has specially designed for the lifting tasks associated with the construction of wind-power generators. Its 100 metre long telescopic boom and most features of the slewing platform are derived from the 9-axle LTM 11200-9.1 mobile crane, which has been used successfully on a number of occasions for wind-power generator erecting work since it was introduced last year.

　　The crane operator and heavy haulage company China Power Large Size Equipment Assembling Construction Co. Ltd. has been operating the 1,200 tonne Liebherr telescopic mobile crane since the summer of this year. The company also decided on the crawler variant, and made the LTR 11200 available for exhibition at the Bauma-China. As well as this, China Power Large Size Equipment Assembling Construction Co. Ltd. has already ordered a second LTM 11200-9.1 from Liebherr.

　　In response to the specific demands imposed by the work that has to be carried out in wind-power parks, Liebherr developed the LTR 11200 concept, a telescopic-boom crane on a narrow-gauge crawler undercarriage. It has been optimised to negotiate the narrow gaps between the individual wind-power units while fully equipped for operation.

　　The maximum crawler track gauge is only 4.8 metres. The track plates are 1.2 metres wide, with plates 1.5 m wide available as an option. Another option is a hydraulic steering aid which presses the crawler track down at the centre of the track frame. This reduces the ground contact area of the inside track and makes it easier for the crane to turn corners.

　　During crane operation the LTR 11200 is supported by star-pattern outriggers with a base area of 13 m x 13 m. Both crane travel and operation of the supports are remote controlled by radio. The excellent stability of the crawler-track undercarriage ensures that the crane can travel safely on site with its working equipment in position.
